Andy Munro was born and bred in Birmingham's world-famous Balti Triangle and has become renowned as the champion of the Balti and aficionado of Birmingham's Asian cuisine. The writer of several curry guides, including the “Essential Street Balti Guide,” Andy recently published a book about the history of Birmingham's iconic dish, “Going for a Balti.” He is a regular restaurant reviewer on Trip Adviser under the pseudonym “Baltying Brummie,” is working with restaurants to secure an EU authentication food mark for the Birmingham Balti and runs a website dedicated to Balti. He also helps run tours of the Balti Triangle and other areas of Birmingham through Alternative Tours.
